Nero 7: Quick Guide on How to Burn a Data CD


Nero StartSmart also known as Nero 6 is a set of tools used to create content and burn it into CDs or DVDs.

It operates with Windows systems including Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. You can copy or create all sorts of files such as videos, images, audio and data in general as well as content that you may download from the Internet.

Nero StartSmart has a friendly interface and you don´t need to be an expert to be able to use it. You can go ahead and download the free trial before you consider to get the full version.

In this transcript, you will have a quick tour on how to burn a data CD with Nero 7.

First, open the program from your desktop or your Start Menu. On top of the application, select ‘CD’ from the Menu.

Now, click on ‘Data’, and then choose ‘Make Data CD’.

For your disc content, open your file location, drag the files into the Nero window, and then click ‘Next’. On this CD, we can add files of up to 700MB.

Next screen is the ‘Final Burn Settings’. Near the bottom of the screen, make certain that ‘verify data after burning’ is checked. Also, make sure you select your burner that is installed on your computer, create a disc name, and then click ‘Burn’ and wait for the process to be completed.

Now, the writing is finished and it is verifying the data. Once the verification is completed, your disc will be ejected. A window will pop up saying the disc is done. Click ‘OK’, and a new dialogue window will appear asking if you want to save this project, click either ‘yes’ or ‘no’. If ‘no’, you will be brought back to the main window.
